AI-generated outputs may be retained for quality assurance, abuse prevention, service improvement, debugging, security monitoring, and compliance with applicable legal obligations, subject to applicable law and User rights.
Users remain responsible for reviewing, verifying, editing, and approving all AI-generated content before publication, distribution, licensing, commercialization, or other use.
2.9 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Some cookies are essential for the operation of the Platform and cannot reasonably be disabled without affecting core functionality. Other cookies may be used for analytics, functionality, personalization, or marketing purposes, subject to applicable law and User consent where required.
Users may manage cookie preferences through browser settings, device settings, cookie banners, or other mechanisms provided by Pagia. Disabling certain cookies may limit the availability or functionality of portions of the Platform.
Additional information regarding Pagia's use of cookies may be provided in a separate Cookie Policy or Cookie Notice.

We seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, and develop our Services while complying with applicable legal obligations.
The methods described below are not exhaustive. As the Platform evolves, Pagia may introduce additional lawful methods of collecting information, provided such collection remains consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
Much of the information processed by Pagia is provided directly by Users.
Users may voluntarily provide personal information when creating an account, completing a profile, publishing a book, uploading a manuscript, designing a book cover, purchasing or selling products, subscribing to services, requesting payouts, participating in events, communicating with other Users, contacting customer support, completing surveys, joining creator programs, participating in promotional campaigns, applying for publishing opportunities, requesting verification, or otherwise interacting with the Platform.
Where Users choose not to provide certain information, some features or Services may become unavailable or function only on a limited basis.
Users remain responsible for ensuring that information submitted to Pagia is accurate, current, complete, and not misleading.
3.2 Information Generated Through Use of the Platform
Certain information is generated automatically as Users interact with the Platform.
For example, when a User reads an ebook, edits a manuscript, publishes a title, designs a cover, creates a bookstore, purchases a publication, licenses intellectual property, joins a discussion, communicates with another User, attends a virtual event, or uses AI-powered creative tools, the Platform generates operational information necessary to provide those Services.
This information helps Pagia maintain the integrity of transactions, synchronize content across devices, improve recommendations, monitor system performance, personalize experiences, prevent abuse, and develop new functionality.
Operational records generated through Platform usage may include timestamps, interaction history, workflow progress, feature utilization, system logs, publication history, licensing activities, transaction references, synchronization events, and similar technical records.
3.3 Information Collected Through Automated Technologies
Pagia uses automated technologies to collect technical information about how the Platform is accessed and used.
These technologies include cookies, software development kits (SDKs), application programming interfaces (APIs), web beacons, server logs, local storage mechanisms, browser technologies, security monitoring tools, fraud detection systems, analytics platforms, and other technologies designed to support Platform functionality.
Automated collection enables Pagia to authenticate Users, maintain secure sessions, improve system performance, understand usage trends, diagnose technical issues, detect malicious activity, optimize application performance, and enhance the overall User experience.
Where required by applicable law, Users will be provided with appropriate choices regarding the use of non-essential tracking technologies.
3.4 Information Received Through Connected Accounts and Third-Party Integrations
Users may choose to connect Pagia with third-party services, applications, or platforms.
Where such integrations are authorized, Pagia may receive information from those third parties in accordance with the permissions granted by the User.
Examples include social login providers, payment providers, publishing services, educational platforms, cloud storage providers, analytics providers, communication tools, identity verification services, blockchain infrastructure providers, digital wallet providers, and future integration partners.
The scope of information received depends upon the settings selected by the User and the policies of the relevant third-party provider.
Pagia encourages Users to review the privacy practices of connected services before authorizing access.
3.5 Information Obtained During Verification and Compliance Processes
To maintain a trusted publishing ecosystem and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, Pagia may collect or receive information during identity verification, business verification, ownership verification, payment verification, anti-money laundering reviews, sanctions screening, fraud prevention reviews, tax compliance procedures, intellectual property investigations, dispute resolution processes, and similar compliance activities.

3.9 Information from Publicly Available Sources
Pagia may collect information from publicly available sources where reasonably necessary to verify identities, confirm publishing credentials, validate intellectual property ownership, investigate fraud, assess business legitimacy, comply with legal obligations, improve Platform accuracy, or support marketplace integrity.
Publicly available sources may include official government records, corporate registries, copyright registries, ISBN databases, professional directories, public websites, publicly accessible social media profiles, academic publications, news reports, court records, sanctions lists, and other lawful public sources.
Any information obtained from public sources shall be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
3.10 Information Collected Through Future Services
As Pagia expands its ecosystem, additional methods of collecting information may become necessary to support new products and services.
These future services may include physical publishing, print-on-demand operations, literary representation, rights exchanges, audiobook production, film and television adaptation marketplaces, educational platforms, creator funding initiatives, immersive storytelling experiences, virtual events, digital asset marketplaces, augmented reality services, virtual reality environments, metaverse experiences, artificial intelligence innovations, blockchain-enabled rights management, and other technologies introduced to support Africa's creative economy.
Where the introduction of new services materially changes the manner in which personal information is collected or processed, Pagia will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, provide appropriate notice or obtain consent before implementing such changes.
4. How We Use Your Information
Pagia processes personal information only where there is a lawful basis for doing so and only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, provide the Services, fulfill contractual obligations, comply with applicable legal requirements, protect Users, improve the Platform, and support the continued development of Africa's digital publishing and creative ecosystem.
The specific purposes for which personal information is processed depend upon the nature of a User's interaction with the Platform, the Services utilized, the applicable legal requirements, and the choices made by the User.

Financial information may also be processed to detect fraud, manage payment risks, comply with anti-money laundering obligations, prevent financial crime, satisfy regulatory reporting requirements, and protect the integrity of the Platform.
Processing for these purposes is necessary to perform contractual obligations, comply with legal requirements, and protect the legitimate interests of Pagia and its Users.
4.4 To Operate Communication and Community Features
Pagia is designed as a collaborative ecosystem that enables meaningful interaction between authors, readers, publishers, editors, booksellers, creative professionals, educators, rights holders, production studios, and other members of the literary community.
To facilitate these interactions, Pagia processes information relating to direct messages, collaboration requests, marketplace inquiries, comments, reviews, ratings, community discussions, event participation, customer support communications, moderation reports, notifications, and similar communications.

Users remain responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated outputs before publication or commercial use.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, Pagia does not use ownership of User content submitted through AI services as a condition for providing those services.
4.6 To Improve the Platform
Pagia continually evaluates how the Platform performs in order to improve usability, accessibility, reliability, security, scalability, and overall User experience.
Personal information may therefore be processed to understand feature usage, identify technical issues, evaluate user journeys, improve search functionality, optimize recommendations, enhance accessibility, develop new products, conduct quality assurance, perform statistical analysis, measure engagement, and inform strategic product decisions.

Personalization is intended to improve the relevance, usefulness, and efficiency of the Services while maintaining appropriate respect for User privacy.
Users may have the ability to manage certain personalization preferences through their account settings where such controls are made available.
4.8 To Protect the Platform and Its Users
Protecting the security and integrity of the Platform requires Pagia to process personal information for security-related purposes.
Such processing may include identity verification, fraud detection, account authentication, cybersecurity monitoring, abuse prevention, spam detection, malware prevention, intellectual property protection, sanctions screening, anti-money laundering compliance, suspicious transaction monitoring, investigation of policy violations, enforcement of Platform rules, and response to security incidents.
Where necessary, Pagia may temporarily restrict accounts, suspend transactions, preserve evidence, or investigate activity that appears inconsistent with applicable law or Platform policies.
This processing is carried out to protect the legitimate interests of Pagia, its Users, and the broader Platform ecosystem.
4.9 To Comply with Legal and Regulatory Obligations
Pagia processes personal information where necessary to comply with legal obligations imposed by applicable laws, regulations, judicial proceedings, lawful requests from competent authorities, tax requirements, accounting standards, financial regulations, intellectual property laws, sanctions regimes, consumer protection laws, data protection legislation, and other legal requirements.
This may include maintaining records, responding to lawful requests, reporting suspicious activity, preserving evidence, cooperating with investigations, complying with court orders, resolving legal disputes, enforcing contractual rights, and satisfying regulatory reporting obligations.
Where legally permitted, Pagia will seek to limit disclosures to the minimum information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
4.10 To Communicate with Users
Pagia processes personal information to communicate with Users regarding their accounts, transactions, publishing activities, purchases, subscriptions, creator programs, customer support requests, security notifications, policy updates, legal notices, platform announcements, educational opportunities, events, surveys, and service improvements.
Where Users have provided appropriate consent or where otherwise permitted by law, Pagia may also send newsletters, product updates, promotional communications, and information regarding new features or services.
Users may opt out of marketing communications at any time through the mechanisms provided within such communications or through their account settings, although they may continue to receive essential service-related and legally required communications.
4.11 Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on the circumstances, Pagia processes personal information on one or more of the following legal bases:
Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the User, including the provision of publishing, marketplace, payment, communication, and Platform services.
Where processing is necessary to comply with legal or regulatory obligations applicable to Pagia.
Where the User has freely provided consent for specific processing activities, and such consent may be withdrawn at any time where permitted by law.
Where processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of a User or another individual.
Where processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or under applicable legal authority.
Where processing is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by Pagia or a third party, provided such interests are not overridden by the fundamental rights and freedoms of the User.
Pagia carefully evaluates the appropriate legal basis applicable to each processing activity and implements additional safeguards where required by applicable law.

As Pagia expands into new areas of publishing, rights management, creative collaboration, educational technology, artificial intelligence, film adaptation, virtual experiences, blockchain-enabled services, and other innovations, personal information may be processed to provide those additional services.
Where future services involve materially different processing activities, Pagia will update this Privacy Policy and provide appropriate notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law before implementing such changes.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on a User's device when visiting the Platform. Similar technologies include software development kits (SDKs), web beacons, tracking pixels, local storage technologies, session identifiers, application programming interfaces (APIs), and comparable technologies that perform similar functions.
These technologies enable Pagia to recognize returning Users, maintain secure login sessions, remember User preferences, personalize the Platform, improve performance, analyze usage patterns, detect fraudulent activity, maintain security, and deliver a consistent experience across devices.
The use of these technologies does not alter ownership of User Content or intellectual property submitted through the Platform.
5.2 Categories of Cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for the operation of the Platform. These cookies enable account authentication, secure login sessions, fraud prevention, payment processing, navigation, security controls, and other functions required for the Platform to operate correctly. Because these cookies are essential, they generally cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
Functional cookies allow the Platform to remember User preferences such as language settings, accessibility preferences, interface configurations, recently viewed content, publishing preferences, reading preferences, and other personalized settings that improve the User experience.
Performance and analytics cookies help Pagia understand how Users interact with the Platform by measuring feature usage, page performance, error rates, navigation patterns, engagement metrics, and other statistical information. This information assists Pagia in improving product design, identifying technical issues, enhancing accessibility, and optimizing Platform performance.
Personalization technologies may be used to recommend books, authors, educational resources, marketplace opportunities, publishing tools, creative services, events, and other content based upon User activity and stated preferences.
Where permitted by applicable law and with appropriate consent where required, marketing and advertising technologies may be used to measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, prevent repetitive advertising, understand audience engagement, and deliver communications that are more relevant to Users.
5.3 Third-Party Analytics and Technology Providers
Pagia may engage trusted third-party providers to assist with analytics, security monitoring, application performance, fraud prevention, payment processing, content delivery, communication services, infrastructure management, and related operational functions.
These providers may utilize cookies or similar technologies solely to perform services on Pagia's behalf and are contractually required to process information in accordance with applicable legal requirements and appropriate confidentiality obligations.
Pagia does not authorize third-party technology providers to use information collected through the Platform for their own unrelated commercial purposes except where expressly disclosed and permitted by applicable law.
5.4 User Control Over Cookies
Users may manage cookies and similar technologies through browser settings, mobile device settings, cookie consent banners, or other privacy controls made available by Pagia.
Depending on the User's jurisdiction, Users may have the ability to accept, reject, or customize the use of non-essential cookies before they are placed on their device.
Disabling certain cookies may affect the availability, performance, or functionality of portions of the Platform, including account authentication, publishing tools, payment functionality, personalization features, or other Services.
Cookie preferences may be updated at any time through the mechanisms provided by Pagia, although changes may not apply retroactively to information previously collected.
5.5 Future Tracking Technologies
As technology evolves, Pagia may introduce new methods of measuring Platform performance, improving security, preventing fraud, enhancing accessibility, supporting immersive experiences, enabling artificial intelligence services, facilitating blockchain functionality, or improving User experience.
Where such technologies materially change the manner in which personal information is collected or processed, Pagia will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, provide appropriate notice or obtain User consent before implementing those technologies.
6. How We Share Your Information
Pagia recognizes that personal information belongs to the User and does not sell personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary consideration.
Information is shared only where necessary to provide the Services, fulfill contractual obligations, comply with legal requirements, protect legitimate interests, support Platform functionality, or where the User has otherwise directed or authorized such sharing.

Only information reasonably necessary for the completion of the requested activity will be shared.
Participants receiving such information remain independently responsible for complying with applicable privacy and confidentiality obligations.
6.5 Artificial Intelligence and Technology Partners
Where Users utilize AI-powered services, certain information may be processed through technology providers that support those services.
Pagia seeks to engage providers that implement appropriate security measures, contractual confidentiality obligations, and privacy safeguards consistent with applicable legal requirements.
Where practical, Pagia minimizes the information shared with AI service providers and implements technical and organizational measures designed to protect confidential manuscripts, unpublished works, and other sensitive creative assets.
6.6 Legal and Regulatory Disclosures
Pagia may disclose personal information where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
Such disclosures may occur in response to lawful requests from courts, regulators, law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, data protection authorities, financial intelligence units, intellectual property authorities, or other competent governmental bodies.

If Pagia undergoes a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, investment transaction, financing, sale of assets, insolvency proceeding, or similar business transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Any successor organization receiving personal information shall remain subject to obligations that are substantially consistent with this Privacy Policy unless Users are notified otherwise and applicable law requires additional consent.
6.8 Aggregated and De-Identified Information
Pagia may aggregate, anonymize, pseudonymize, or otherwise de-identify information so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with an identifiable individual.
Such information may be used for research, product development, platform analytics, industry reporting, academic collaboration, investment reporting, market analysis, performance measurement, artificial intelligence improvement, publishing ecosystem insights, and other legitimate business purposes.
Information that has been properly anonymized or de-identified is not treated as personal information under this Privacy Policy unless it is later re-identified.
6.9 No Sale of Personal Information
Except as otherwise permitted under applicable law or specifically disclosed to Users, Pagia does not sell personal information to third parties for monetary consideration.
Should Pagia introduce any business model that constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under applicable privacy laws, Users will be provided with appropriate disclosures, rights, and choices required by those laws.
7. International Data Transfers
7.1 Cross-Border Nature of the Platform
Pagia operates as a digital publishing and creative economy platform intended to serve Users across multiple countries and jurisdictions.
As a result, personal information may be collected, processed, stored, accessed, transmitted, or otherwise handled in jurisdictions outside the User's country of residence where necessary to provide the Services, operate the Platform, process payments, facilitate publishing, support marketplace activities, deliver customer support, maintain cloud infrastructure, improve security, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users acknowledge that by accessing the Platform and using the Services, their information may be transferred internationally in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
7.2 International Infrastructure
To provide reliable and scalable Services, Pagia may utilize technology infrastructure, cloud computing providers, content delivery networks, payment processors, communication providers, cybersecurity services, artificial intelligence providers, analytics services, disaster recovery facilities, backup systems, and other technology partners located in different jurisdictions.
These providers may process personal information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform services on behalf of Pagia and are required to maintain appropriate safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Pagia remains committed to selecting service providers that demonstrate appropriate security, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance standards.
7.3 Appropriate Transfer Safeguards
Where personal information is transferred across international borders, Pagia shall implement safeguards appropriate to the nature of the transfer and the applicable legal requirements.
Such safeguards may include legally recognized contractual protections, adequacy decisions issued by competent authorities, approved transfer mechanisms, technical security measures, organizational safeguards, encryption, pseudonymization, access controls, or other lawful mechanisms designed to ensure an appropriate level of protection for personal information.
Where required by applicable law, Pagia shall assess the legal and practical risks associated with international transfers and implement additional safeguards where appropriate.
7.4 Regional Compliance
Pagia endeavors to comply with applicable cross-border data transfer requirements under relevant privacy legislation, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and other applicable privacy frameworks.
Where Users are located in jurisdictions that provide additional protections relating to international transfers, Pagia will process personal information in accordance with those requirements to the extent applicable.
7.5 Business Expansion
As Pagia expands into additional markets, establishes regional operations, enters strategic partnerships, or deploys infrastructure in new jurisdictions, personal information may be transferred to support those operations.
Where such expansion materially affects international data processing activities, Pagia will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, provide appropriate notice or obtain any necessary approvals before implementing those changes.
8. Data Retention and Record Management
8.1 General Retention Principles
Pagia retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected, to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce contractual rights, protect Users, maintain operational records, preserve intellectual property interests, and support the legitimate business operations of the Platform.
Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the information, the applicable legal requirements, operational needs, contractual obligations, regulatory obligations, and the relationship between the User and Pagia.
When personal information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, Pagia will securely delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of the information in accordance with applicable law and internal retention procedures.
8.2 Account Information
Information associated with User accounts may be retained for as long as the account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to facilitate account recovery, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, investigate fraud, maintain security, preserve transaction history, and protect the legitimate interests of Pagia and its Users.
Where a User requests deletion of an account, Pagia will process such requests in accordance with applicable law, subject to legal, contractual, regulatory, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, intellectual property, and security requirements that may require continued retention of certain information.
8.3 Publishing and Creative Works
Published books, manuscripts, metadata, publishing records, ISBN information, edition history, cover artwork, licensing records, rights information, royalty records, and other publishing-related information may be retained for the duration necessary to support publishing operations, intellectual property management, distribution, contractual obligations, rights enforcement, archival integrity, reader access, historical recordkeeping, and legal compliance.
Where unpublished manuscripts or draft works are removed by a User, Pagia may retain limited archival copies for backup, disaster recovery, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security investigations, legal compliance, or other legitimate operational purposes for a reasonable period.
Pagia recognizes the commercial sensitivity of unpublished creative works and applies appropriate safeguards to such information throughout the retention period.
8.4 Financial and Transaction Records
Information relating to purchases, subscriptions, royalties, creator payouts, commissions, licensing transactions, payment history, invoices, receipts, tax documentation, refunds, and other financial activities may be retained for the periods required under applicable accounting, taxation, financial reporting, anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, sanctions compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Such information may also be retained where reasonably necessary to resolve disputes, investigate suspicious activity, defend legal claims, or enforce contractual rights.
8.5 Communications
Customer support communications, marketplace discussions, moderation records, policy enforcement records, appeals, dispute resolution files, and related communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain Platform operations, improve customer service, investigate complaints, enforce Platform policies, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
Private communications between Users are retained in accordance with the functionality of the relevant service and applicable law.
8.6 Security Logs and Technical Records
Security logs, authentication records, system logs, network monitoring information, fraud detection records, access logs, cybersecurity information, diagnostic records, and related technical information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain Platform security, investigate incidents, prevent abuse, monitor system integrity, comply with regulatory obligations, and support business continuity.
Retention periods for security information may vary depending upon the nature of the incident, applicable legal requirements, and operational necessity.
8.7 Artificial Intelligence Interaction Records
Where Users utilize AI-powered services, Pagia may retain prompts, generated outputs, interaction history, quality assessments, user feedback, and technical performance information for limited periods to improve system performance, investigate abuse, ensure service reliability, comply with legal obligations, and maintain platform security.
Where technically feasible and appropriate, Pagia will seek to minimize retention of AI interaction data while preserving sufficient information to maintain service quality and integrity.
Retention of AI interaction data shall not affect ownership of User content.
8.8 Legal Holds
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Privacy Policy, Pagia may retain personal information for longer periods where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, preserve evidence, respond to regulatory inquiries, investigate fraud, resolve disputes, protect intellectual property, defend legal claims, enforce contractual rights, comply with court orders, or satisfy other legal requirements.
Where information becomes subject to a legal hold, deletion requests may be delayed until the relevant legal or regulatory matter has concluded.
8.9 Secure Disposal
When personal information is no longer required and no legal or operational basis exists for continued retention, Pagia will take reasonable measures to securely delete, anonymize, aggregate, or otherwise render the information incapable of identifying an individual.
The methods used for secure disposal will depend upon the nature of the information, the storage medium, applicable industry standards, technological capabilities, and legal requirements.
Backups containing deleted information may continue to exist for limited periods as part of routine disaster recovery procedures before being securely overwritten or permanently removed in accordance with Pagia's backup management practices.
8.10 Periodic Retention Reviews
Pagia periodically reviews its information retention practices to ensure that personal information is not retained longer than reasonably necessary and that retention schedules remain consistent with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, operational needs, technological developments, and industry best practices.
Where appropriate, retention policies may be revised to reflect changes in legal obligations, Platform functionality, business operations, or technological advancements. Material changes affecting Users will be reflected through updates to this Privacy Policy where required.
9. Data Security
9.1 Our Commitment to Security
Pagia recognizes that the Platform is entrusted with highly sensitive information, including unpublished manuscripts, creative works, publishing records, financial transactions, intellectual property, identity verification documents, communications, and other personal information.
Accordingly, Pagia is committed to implementing appropriate administrative, technical, physical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, misuse, accidental loss, or other unlawful processing.
Security is incorporated into the design, development, deployment, and operation of the Platform and is continually evaluated as the Platform evolves.
9.2 Technical and Organizational Measures
Pagia implements security measures appropriate to the nature, scope, context, and purposes of processing personal information.
Such measures may include encryption of data during transmission using industry-standard protocols, encryption of sensitive information at rest where appropriate, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, role-based access controls, identity and access management systems, secure credential management, network segmentation, intrusion detection and prevention mechanisms, firewall protection, endpoint security, malware detection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, audit logging, backup systems, disaster recovery procedures, and secure software development practices.
Access to personal information is restricted to personnel, contractors, and service providers who require such access to perform authorized duties and who are subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
9.3 Protection of Creative Works
Given the nature of the Platform, Pagia applies heightened safeguards to unpublished manuscripts, creative drafts, research materials, licensing documents, screenplay submissions, adaptation proposals, and other confidential intellectual property entrusted to the Platform.
Access to such materials is limited to systems, personnel, and service providers with a legitimate operational need to process the information.
Pagia does not intentionally disclose unpublished creative works to third parties except where authorized by the User, required to provide a requested Service, required by applicable law, or otherwise permitted under applicable agreements.
The implementation of AI-assisted publishing tools does not diminish Pagia's obligation to safeguard confidential creative materials.
9.4 User Responsibilities
While Pagia implements reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, Users also play an essential role in maintaining account security.
Users are responsible for safeguarding their passwords, authentication credentials, recovery codes, private wallet credentials, verification devices, and other security information associated with their accounts.
Users should promptly notify Pagia if they believe their account has been compromised, unauthorized activity has occurred, credentials have been lost, or suspicious activity has been detected.
Users remain responsible for maintaining the security of devices used to access the Platform.
9.5 Security Monitoring
Pagia continually monitors the Platform for indicators of unauthorized access, cybersecurity threats, fraudulent activity, abuse, malware, automated attacks, suspicious transactions, intellectual property violations, and other activities that may compromise the security or integrity of the Platform.
Where appropriate, automated monitoring systems may identify unusual patterns requiring further investigation by authorized personnel.
Security monitoring is conducted solely for legitimate operational, security, legal, and compliance purposes.
9.6 Security Incidents
Despite the safeguards implemented by Pagia, no technology system can guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a suspected or confirmed security incident affecting personal information, Pagia will investigate the incident, take reasonable steps to contain and remediate the issue, assess the potential impact on affected Users, preserve relevant evidence, cooperate with competent authorities where required, and comply with applicable legal obligations relating to breach notification.
Where required by law, Pagia will notify affected Users and relevant regulatory authorities within the timeframes prescribed by applicable legislation.
9.7 Third-Party Security
Pagia carefully selects third-party service providers that support the operation of the Platform and expects such providers to maintain security practices appropriate to the services they perform.
However, Pagia does not control the internal security practices of independent third-party organizations.
Where personal information is shared with authorized service providers, Pagia seeks to ensure that appropriate contractual safeguards are implemented to protect such information.
Users should also review the privacy and security practices of third-party services they choose to use in connection with the Platform.
9.8 Continuous Improvement
Cybersecurity threats continually evolve.
Accordingly, Pagia periodically reviews, updates, tests, and improves its security controls, incident response procedures, risk management practices, employee training, technical safeguards, and governance frameworks to maintain an appropriate level of protection for personal information.
Nothing contained in this Privacy Policy should be interpreted as a guarantee that unauthorized access, cyberattacks, or security incidents can never occur.
10. Your Privacy Rights
10.1 Our Commitment to User Rights
Pagia believes that individuals should maintain meaningful control over their personal information.
Subject to applicable law, Users may exercise various rights relating to the personal information processed by Pagia. The availability and scope of these rights may vary depending upon the User's jurisdiction, the nature of the processing, and applicable legal requirements.
Pagia is committed to responding to valid requests in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

Pagia may request supporting documentation where necessary to verify the accuracy of requested corrections.
10.4 Right to Deletion
Subject to applicable legal requirements, Users may request deletion of personal information processed by Pagia.
Deletion requests may be granted where the information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, where consent has been withdrawn and no other lawful basis for processing exists, where processing is unlawful, or where deletion is otherwise required by applicable law.
Certain information may be retained notwithstanding a deletion request where continued retention is necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect intellectual property, maintain financial records, prevent fraud, preserve evidence, safeguard security, or exercise legal rights.
Deletion of personal information does not necessarily require removal of published works, completed commercial transactions, or historical records where lawful grounds exist for their continued retention.
10.5 Right to Restrict Processing
Where permitted by applicable law, Users may request that Pagia temporarily restrict the processing of certain personal information under circumstances recognized by applicable privacy legislation.
During periods of restricted processing, Pagia may continue to retain the relevant information while limiting active processing activities except where necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect legitimate interests.
10.6 Right to Object
Users may object to certain processing activities conducted on the basis of Pagia's legitimate interests or other legal grounds where such rights are recognized under applicable law.
Upon receiving a valid objection, Pagia will assess whether compelling legitimate grounds exist to continue processing the relevant information or whether processing should cease.
Users may also object to the processing of personal information for direct marketing purposes, in which case Pagia will honor such requests in accordance with applicable law.
10.7 Right to Data Portability
Where required by applicable law, Users may request a copy of certain personal information they have provided to Pagia in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
Where technically feasible and legally permissible, Users may also request that such information be transmitted directly to another service provider.
The right to data portability applies only where processing is based upon consent or contract and is carried out through automated means.
10.8 Right to Withdraw Consent
Where Pagia relies upon User consent as the legal basis for processing personal information, Users may withdraw that consent at any time.
Withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted before the withdrawal took effect.
Certain Platform features may become unavailable where consent is withdrawn and no alternative lawful basis exists for continued processing.
10.9 Right to Lodge a Complaint
Users who believe that Pagia has processed their personal information in violation of applicable privacy laws may submit a complaint directly to Pagia using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.
Users may also have the right to lodge complaints with the competent data protection authority or regulatory body in their jurisdiction.
Pagia encourages Users to contact us first so that we may have an opportunity to investigate and resolve concerns promptly and fairly.
10.10 Exercising Your Rights
Requests relating to privacy rights may be submitted through the designated privacy contact channels published by Pagia.
To protect the privacy and security of Users, Pagia may require verification of identity before fulfilling requests involving access, correction, deletion, portability, or other sensitive matters.
Pagia will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. Where requests are unusually complex or numerous, Pagia may extend the response period where permitted by law, provided appropriate notice is given.
Pagia reserves the right to decline requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, fraudulent, or otherwise inconsistent with applicable legal requirements.

Additional privacy notices may apply to such programs.
11.3 Removal of Children's Information
If Pagia becomes aware that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, reasonable steps will be taken to investigate the matter and, where appropriate, delete the relevant information or obtain any consent required under applicable law.
